<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular obstacle monitoring device capable of correctly notifying the existence of an obstacle with small amount of computation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vehicular obstacle monitoring device detects the relative position from the relative distance and the relative angle of an obstacle around a vehicle 1 to the vehicle 1 through ultrasonic sensors 2, 3. The vehicular obstacle monitoring device has a determination boundary line forming a determination boundary between a caution range requiring caution on the existence of the obstacle and a contact range requiring avoidance of any contact on the existence of the obstacle in the detection range in which the ultrasonic sensors 2, 3 detect the obstacle. When the relative position of the obstacle to the vehicle 1 detected by the ultrasonic sensors 2, 3 is within the caution range, informs that caution is necessary for the obstacle to a driver by a notification unit 12. When the relative position of the obstacle to the vehicle 1 detected by the ultrasonic sensors 2, 3 is within the contact range, informs that avoidance of the obstacle is necessary to the driver by the notification unit 12.
