Ž<P>SOLUTION: This discharge characteristic measuring device has a first discharge stage of discharging the droplet by a droplet discharge means to a recording medium in which a distance from the droplet discharge means becomes a predetermined first distance, a moving stage of relatively moving the droplet discharge means to the recording medium vertically to a surface of the recording medium so that a distance between the recording medium and the droplet discharge means becomes a second distance different from the first distance by moving the droplet discharge means by a predetermined distance in parallel to the surface of the recording medium, a second discharge means of discharging the droplet to the recording medium by the droplet discharging means from a position moved by the moving means, an acquiring stage of acquiring a first impact position and a second impact position, and a measuring means for measuring the discharge direction for discharging the droplet by the droplet discharge means based on the first and second distances and the first and second impact positions.
