The container takes the form of a cardboard box with double side walls (4-9) and double end walls (5-14), the side walls having adaptable extensions (7-11) that can be attached to the inside face of the end walls (5), forming tubular columns at the vertical edges of the box, which are closed at the top by wings (16) that extend laterally from the end section (14) of the end walls (5), said wings being attached to the body of the box by flaps (17) that fold onto the outside face of the side walls and are glued to the latter. The cardboard is corrugated, made up of two flat outer layers and a corrugated intermediate layer, at least one of said layers being coated with a waterproof compound, and within said laminar body is a glass fibre mesh inserted in a polyethylene layer. This results in a box in which the edges of the various sections thereof are oriented in such a way so as to present a minimum water absorption capacity, and in which said body is water resistant and reinforced by the glass fibre mesh, enabling it to be kept in extreme wet and cold conditions for more than 72 hours (time corresponding to the logistics for fresh fish), retaining the mechanical properties thereof. |
