<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the connecting work in piping P having a flange part Pa. <P>SOLUTION: A connector 10 makes a protruding piece 66, which extends inside a fourth connection hole 26d of a housing 20, interfere with an interfering engagement end 44b of a retainer 40 so that the retainer 40 is installed temporarily. With insertion of piping P, the protruding piece 66 is expanded once in the radial direction of piping by a flange part Pa, and deflected, and thereafter, the protruding piece 66 is elastically reset in the center direction of piping, and the flange part Pa is fitted in a recessed part 69 for engagement. Elastic reset of the protruding piece 66 and engagement of the flange part Pa with the recessed part 69 give moderate feeling, which senses a condition wherein insertion in piping is concluded, to a worker.
