<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a phase difference film at a high speed, having higher Re and lower Rth, as compared to those of conventional types. <P>SOLUTION: Dope is cast on a casting drum 32 and a cast film 33 is cooled and solidified on the casting drum 32. The cast film 33 is pealed off as a film 12 containing a solvent. The pealed off film 12 is dried in a first drying chamber 19. In the first drying chamber 19, the film 12 is made to continuously contact a band 46, heated by a roller 43 via the band 46 and then dried. When the remaining solvent reaches 120 wt.%, the width of the film is expanded with a tenter 18 to be made into a phase difference film 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
