<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection video display device, restraining increase in size of the projection type video display device even when the distance between the projection type video display device and a projection surface is shortened in displaying a video on a plurality of projection surfaces. <P>SOLUTION: This projection video display device 100 includes a video light generating part 200 and a projection optical system 300. The projection optical system 300 has a reflecting mirror 320 and a half mirror 330. The reflecting mirror 320 condenses video light.
