<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection video display device, restraining increase in size of the projection type video display device even when the distance between the projection type video display device and a projection surface is shortened in displaying a video on a plurality of projection surfaces. <P>SOLUTION: This projection video display device 100 includes a video light generating part 200 having a display element 40 and a projection optical system 300 having a reflecting mirror 320. The display element 40 has a first display area 45 and a second display area 46. The reflecting mirror 320 has a first reflecting area 321 and a second reflecting area 322. The first reflecting area 321 reflects first video light emitted from the first display area 45, and condenses the first video light.
