<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system provided with a function for notifying a state when smoke density reaches particular density even though the smoke density is a threshold or below at which it is determined that a fire breaks out. Ž<P>SOLUTION: While a fire alarm 3 provided with an alarm camera 35 is connected to a living room master unit 2, communication with a PC 8 of an external monitoring agency S is available through the Internet N. The living room master unit 2 executes two-step determination from smoke density information transmitted from the fire alarm 3, issues a fire outbreak sign signal when the smoke density reaches prescribed first density, and issues a fire outbreak signal when the smoke density reaches prescribed second density thicker than the first density and transmits the signal to the PC 8 through the Internet N. Further, imaged video of the alarm camera 35 is transmitted together with the transmission of the signal, the PC 8 outputs alarm and the image video of the alarm camera 35 is displayed.
