<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing auxiliary mechanism of an opening/closing metal flask that facilitates opening and closing operation of the metal flask by supporting such operation of the metal flask of a sliding nozzle apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This is the opening/closing auxiliary mechanism 10 of the opening/closing metal flask, such that the mechanism holds a lower plate brick 14 sliding in close contact with the lower face of an upper plate brick 13 which is fixed through the fixed metal flask 15 to the bottom of a molten metal vessel 11, and that it supports the opening/closing operation of the metal flask 17 connected to the fixed metal flask 15 with an opening/closing capability, through a connecting pin 16 arranged along the sliding direction of the lower plate brick 14. The auxiliary mechanism 10 is mounted on the fixed metal flask 15, and is provided with a rotary driving means 19 which has a rotary output shaft 18 parallel to the connecting pin 16, and with an opening/closing connecting member 20 which is connected in the base side to the rotary output shaft 18 and also connected in the tip end side to the metal flask 17, making a rotational force around the rotary output shaft 18 to a rotational force around the connecting pin 16 of the metal flask 17.
