<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main cylinder for an injection pump, which has a double layered structure comprising an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder and can prevent leakage of molten metal from a boundary part between the inner and outer cylinders, and also to provide a hot chamber die casting machine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The main cylinder 2 for an injection pump includes an inner cylinder 2b in which a plunger 11 for pressurizing molten metal 3 is inserted and an outer cylinder 2c surrounding the inner cylinder 2b, wherein a runner 2a for pouring pressurized molten metal 3 into a forming die is provided inside the outer cylinder 2c. Through a connection runner 28 provided inside a cap member 2d which is inserted from the outer cylinder 2c to the inner cylinder 2b, the molten metal 3 is poured from inside the inner cylinder 2b into the runner 2a. Since the runner 2a for pouring the pressurized molten metal 3 into the forming die is installed inside the outer cylinder 2c and since the cap member 2d is inserted from the outer cylinder 2c toward the inner cylinder 2b, the boundary between the inner and outer cylinders 2b, 2c is covered with the cap member, thus preventing the molten metal 3 from leaking from the boundary part.
