<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate electronic files per a document by easily specifying delimiters of the documents regardless of the contents of the original. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An electronic file-generating device lists and displays image data of respective pages of one document which are scanned together in a page editing area 410 in a page editing screen 400. When a delimiter insertion button 464 is clicked on, a delimiter symbol 450 indicating a delimiting position of the document is displayed. The delimiter symbol 450 is moved to a delimiting position of the document that a user predetermined by drag and drop operation. Then when an OK button 465 is clicked on, the electronic file-generating device obtains corresponding image data for each group of reduced images 430 delimited with the delimiter symbol 450 to generate a document file.
