<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing short fiber for a cement-based formed body where problems in charging workability of the fiber, dispersibility, workability in concrete construction and the like do not occur and where the bending toughness of a hardened cement-based formed body can be enhanced. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The reinforcing short fiber for the cement-based formed body which is a stretched fiber whose main ingredient is a polypropylene resin is characterized by having a nearly quadrangular cross-sectional shape with four projected parts, having recessed parts formed with a specified interval along the longitudinal direction of the fiber on nearly quadrangular opposing two faces and having recessed parts formed with a specified interval along the longitudinal direction of the fiber on the nearly quadrangular projected parts.
