PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an waste ink absorber which does not stain a hand at the time of interchanging, and an inkjet recording apparatus equipped with it. SOLUTION: A first waste ink absorber 51 is a continuous shape formed with a slit 60, and is composed of a laminated material 62 consisting of a porous material, a film 63 covering approximately the whole of the laminated material 62 and having transparent properties and ink non-permeability, and three handles 64. In the first waste ink absorber 51, only both end parts 65 and 66 divided by the slit 60 are not covered with the film 63, and the laminated material 62 is exposed from both the end parts 65 and 66. In the first waste ink absorber 51, one end part 65 faces an outlet of a piping 39 for recovering the pigment ink, and the other end part 66 is continuously connected with a third waste ink absorber 55.
