<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system capable of improving system quick responsiveness or flexibility by performing a proxy response in the network system only when it is necessary to respond to a monitoring request from a second network with respect to a request from a first network to a second network. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A gateway device 3 in a network system comprises: a device information acquiring section 3f for collecting monitor information from a facility device 2; and a command analyzing section 3d in which, when a request command is received from a terminal device 1, it is determined whether a response redirecting monitor information from the facility device 2 to the terminal device 1 is required for the request command, and when it is determined that the response from the facility device 2 to the terminal device 1 is required, the response to the terminal device 1 is performed using the monitor information collected by the device information acquiring section 3f, but if it is determined that the response from the facility device 2 to the terminal device 1 is not required, the response to the terminal device 1 is not performed, and the received request command is transmitted to the facility device 2.
