<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in high speed operation of a comparator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A voltage/current conversion circuit 103 converts first and second voltages Vinp and Vinn to a first current I(Vinp) having a current value corresponding to the first voltage Vinp and a second current I(Vinn) having a current value corresponding to the second voltage Vinn. A current comparison circuit 104 compares the respective current values of the first and the second currents I(Vinp) and I(Vinn) and outputs a voltage showing the comparison result. Oxide films of MOS transistors configuring the current comparison circuit 104 are thinner than oxide films of MOS transistors configuring the voltage/current conversion circuit 103.
