<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code converter and a code conversion method that implement low overhead tracing of program execution without source code modification in the use of a hook code embedding tracing technique of embedding hook code at hook points. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The code converter 100 includes a hook point detection part 110 for outputting hook point detection information 400, a second code generation part 120 for generating a second code 300, an address specification part 130 for specifying addresses on a process space 500 where the second code 300 is located, a code conversion part 140 for replacing a replaceable code with a hook code when the hook code is used for branching an addressed code from hook points specified by the hook point detection information 400 to the second code 300, and an output part 150 for outputting a converted first code 210, the second code 300 and the hook point detection information 400.
