<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of imaging an observation zone under satisfactory conditions when imaging it automatically or in a remote control manner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging device includes a light source 22 for applying light on the observation zone 12 and a camera installed at an observation point O to image the observation zone. The light source 22 is installed at such a position that the direct light entering each point in the observation zone 12 by advancing straight from the light source 22 and being reflected and advancing straight while satisfying the relationship of angle of incidence=angle of reflection at each point in the observation zone 12 cannot reach the observation point O, but the indirect light entering each point in the observation zone 12 by advancing straight from the light source 22 and being scattered and advancing straight without satisfying the relationship of angle of incidence=angle of reflection at each point in the observation zone 12 can reach the observation point O.
