PURPOSE: A process for preparing nanocrystalline manganese oxide is provided to allow potassium permanganate to react to 3~4.5M ethylene glycol to produce spheral manganese dioxide nanoparticles. CONSTITUTION: A process for preparing nanocrystalline manganese oxide comprises the following step of allowing potassium permanganate to react to 3~4.5M ethylene glycol. The manganese oxide nanoparticles contain 0-45% moisture. The manganese oxide nanoparticles have second hollows. The specific surface area of the manganese oxide nanoparticles is 230m^2/g±10%. The average particle size of the manganese oxide nanoparticles is 8~15nm.
