<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat transfer image receiving sheet with such advantages as excellent light resistance, reverse transfer resistance and high transferability of heat diffusive coloring matter even in rapid printing and low energy printing processes. <P>SOLUTION: This heat transfer image receiving sheet has a coloring matter receiving layer which can receive the heat diffusive coloring matter. The coloring matter receiving layer contains at least, an inorganic particulate (F) and a hydrophobic resin (B), and the ratio (F1/B1) of the inorganic particulate/hydrophobic resin in the surface region of the coloring matter receiving layer, is lower than the ratio (F2/B2) of the inorganic particulate/hydrophobic resin in the internal region.
