<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing unnecessary wrinkles and damage from being generated on the paper which is discharged from a discharge port of the image forming apparatus and transferred to an additional conveying device when the additional conveying device is mounted, as an image forming apparatus optionally mounting the additional conveying device which receives the paper after image is formed and discharged from the discharge port at a casing of the image forming apparatus and conveys to a predetermined place. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is displaceably provided with at least one roll of two rolls composing a roll pair of a discharge device in the direction contacting/separating to/from the other roll, and has a mounting supplement mechanism for holding to such a state that the one roll in the roll pair of the discharge device is shifted in the separating direction from the other roll.
