<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network printer system capable of using an optimal substitute printer on printing resources in carrying out substitute printing while minimizing a fall of print processing efficiency for other clients (users) by a printer selected as the substitute printer even if the other printers and a host device are out of network communication when a printer cannot continue printing due to a printing fault. <P>SOLUTION: The printer is provided with an uninterruptive power supply device, a radiocommunication device, and a nonvolatile mass storage device. Print data from the host device is transmitted only to a main printer and the substitute printers of high priority selected beforehand by a server. The substitute printers are given the order of priority, according to the printing resources.
