PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the electrical noise and optical cross talk due to electrical conductivity of the optical path changing sections.

SOLUTION: The reference potential pad 54 is formed adjoining a sub-mount 52 on a substrate 50. The reference potential pad 54 is connected with a ground component not illustrated and is at the ground potential. The reference potential pad 54 and a conductive layer 27 are electrically connected through a connection wire 55. The conductive layer 27 is maintained at the ground potential. One end and the other end of the connecting wire 55 are bonded respectively to the reference potential pad 54 and the conductive layer 27. The bonding position P1 of the conductive layer 27 and the connecting wire 55 is on the sub-mount 52 of the upper surface 22A.
