PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermoplastic resin film with defects including a wrinkle, a hurt, and a horizontal step in an end part reduced. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the thermoplastic resin film, a thermoplastic resin sheet is stretched uniaxially by using a roll stretching device having a preheating roll, a stretching roll, and a carrying roll in turn. The temperature of the preheating roll is made to be the glass transition temperature of a thermoplastic resin constituting the thermoplastic resin sheet or below, and the thermoplastic resin sheet is heated and stretched by using a radiation heating source with a heat insulator arranged around it.
