<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purifier capable of suppressing bacteria contamination in a water storage tank for storing membrane-treated purified water or the like for a long period of time, in the water purifier for performing activated carbon treatment, then performing membrane filtration treatment by a hollow fiber membrane, a reverse osmosis membrane or a nano filter membrane and storing membrane filtered water in the water storage tank. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The water purifier performs treatment in a pretreatment cartridge 40 for filtering the water by silver impregnated activated carbon and a membrane filtration cartridge 15 for performing the membrane filtration treatment by the reverse osmosis membrane or the nano filter membrane. An antibacterial unit 70 which elutes antibacterial metal ions from an electrode to which a voltage is applied is disposed between the membrane filtration cartridge 15 and the water storage tank 18, and a three-way switching valve 55 is provided among a water temperature detection means 50, the pretreatment cartridge 40 and the water storage tank 18.
