<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for inactivating pathogens in biological fluids, exhibiting radiation dose uniformity and narrow residence time distribution of the fluid within the device. <P>SOLUTION: This device for inactivating pathogens in fluid, includes: a chamber, which is a radiation transmitting chamber having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a first surface and a second surface, and is connected to a fluid flow through the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet; a means for moving the fluid through the chamber; and a radiation source, which is a radiation source disposed at a fixed distance from the chamber and providing irradiation of the fluid moving through the chamber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
