PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the degradation of image quality resulting from that an image on a recording material starts to solidify on a carrying means provided between a heating means and a solidification means before it reaches the solidification means. SOLUTION: A blocking plate 81 blocks air heated by a fixing device 15 from flowing to a cooling device 16. A guide plate 82 is disposed close to the fixing device 15 over the blocking plate 81 to form an air passage for carrying air with the blocking plate 81. The air passage is typically adapted so that heated air around the fixing device 15 flows along a surface having an image formed thereon of paper carried by a carrying device 17, and flows upward along the blocking plate 81 after colliding it. Since the air passage is formed in almost the same width as the paper width, the air flowing therein uniformly heats the paper or the carrying surface of the carrying device 17. An exhaust fan 83 is an exhaust device for discharging air out of the system, and discharges the air to a direction distant from the cooling device 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
