<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp which can improve optical output by improving heat radiation properties of the coldest spot, and to provide an illumination fixture. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Since a bulb 11 is covered with a net 31 which is coupled with a coupler 14 and installed, fragments can be prevented from being scattered even if the bulb 11 is implosion-destructed. For that reason, it is not necessary to seal the illumination fixture 20 for prevention of the fragments scattering when used in the illumination fixture 20, and temperature elevation in the fixture can be suppressed. Accompanied with this, heat radiation properties of the coldest spot 12 are improved, and the elevation of temperature in the fixture can be suppressed. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
