PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing apparatus capable of improving the crushing efficiency and continuously crushing a large volume. SOLUTION: The crushing apparatus is enabled to crush a woody material in a cylindrical container 1 with a plurality of crushing media by rotating the cylindrical container 1 and the rotation of the cylindrical container 1 is revolution on a virtual axis at substantially the same position as that of the center axis in the static state of the cylindrical container 1. Each of the crushing media is a rotator 2 and has a plurality of projections 3 on the side face and a hole part 4 formed in the center in the axial direction. A plurality of the rotators 2 are arranged in the axial direction while keeping the center axes parallel to the center axis of the cylindrical container 1 and rollably stored in the cylindrical container 1.
