<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control lighting, accurately and quickly, by reducing the effect of output fluctuation of a light source which occurs at the same cycle as an AC power source, in an illumination system which controls lighting based on the image data outputted from an image sensor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An illumination system 10 comprises a light source 12, a lighting circuit 13 for lighting the light source 12, a control part 15 which generates a lighting control signal for the lighting circuit 13 by performing image processing by acquiring the image data outputted from an image sensor 14, and a zero cross detecting part 16 which detects a zero cross timing of an AC power source 11. The control part 15 acquires image data in synchronization with the zero cross timing of the AC power source 11 detected by the zero cross detecting part 16. Even if the light source 12 fluctuates in output at the same cycle as the AC power source 11, the amount of output fluctuation on the image data at every acquisition becomes almost constant, thereby reducing the effect of output fluctuation for accurate and quick lighting control.
