Ž<P>SOLUTION: The paper conveyance apparatus 100, provided with oblique-passing detection means 404 for detecting an obliquely conveyed status of paper when sensors 113a, 113b for detecting an obliquely passing state, which is fitted at a predetermined position in a paper conveyance passage, detects a front end of paper in the traveling direction, includes sensor movement control means 402 for moving the two sensors 113a, 113b according to the size of paper in the width direction.
