<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow timer processing to be instructed from a data processing device to a processor without interrupts. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A timer control device is connected with a data processing device and a memory. The timer control device includes: a means for performing counting based on a periodic signal; a means for acquiring a handler address where a handler is stored in the memory; a means for securing in the memory a request receiving area for receiving from the data processing device a request for execution of the handler with timeout time, before the execution specified therefor; a means for notifying the data processing device of an address of the request receiving area; a means for acquiring the request for execution of the handler from the request receiving area in the memory; a means for initiating timeout determination for the specified timeout time for the acquired execution request; and a means for reading the handler from the handler address in the memory and executing the handler upon detection of the timeout.
