PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an elastic body polyetherester having advantageous moisture adsorption and desorption properties and advantageous durability relative to the moisture adsorption and desorption, having self-expanding and contracting properties through which the polyetherester reversibly expands and contracts by the moisture adsorption and desorption, and capable of being recycled; and a fiber thereof. SOLUTION: This polyetherester elastomer is one having as a hard segment, polybutylene terephthalate copolymerized with a specific organic metal sulfonate and having as a soft segment, polyoxyethylene glycol containing a specific polyoxyethylene glycol.
