<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection element with a resistor capable of precisely protecting protected devices used at a DC environment to abnormality excluding excessive current and overcharge by removing migration of an alloy with a low melting point. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The protection element has a pair of pin electrodes 1, 1, and a resistor 8 mounting a lead conductor on both ends. A body of the resistor is arranged in parallel on the pin electrodes 1, 1, an excessive current heat generating piece 2 generating heat with conduction of excessive current is arranged by straddling between the pin electrodes 1, 1 while it is inserted into one lead conductor 80a of the resistor 8, a soluble material 3 with a low melting point connects between each pin electrode 1 and the excessive current heat generating piece 2, a compression coil spring 7 is made io pass to one lead conductor 80a of the resistor between the excessive current heat generating piece 2 and the body of the resistor, and an insulator is added in order to prevent direct contact between the lead conductor 80a and the spring 7 and the excessive current heat generating piece 2, and the spring 7 and an end face of the body of the resistor.
