<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator for an electrical rotating machine, in which the unevenness and deformation of a coil surface are corrected to prevent local abutting, and even after a long-time operation, there is no damage on a coil insulating layer due to heat deterioration or thermal shrinkage and electromagnetic vibration or the like, and deterioration in insulation properties is prevented. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the stator for the electrical rotating machine, a slot bottom spacer 4 is installed between a slot bottom portion of a stator core slot 3 and a lower coil 5. An inter-coil spacer 7 is installed between an upper coil 8 and the lower coil 5. A spacer 9 below a wedge is installed between the upper coil 8 and a wedge 10. The wedge 10 is driven into the upper portion of the spacer 9 below the wedge. The upper coil 8 and the lower coil 5 are fixed inside the slot 3. All of the slot bottom spacer 4, the inter-coil spacer 7, and the spacer 9 below the wedge are composed of a buffer material equipped with a stress relieving layer and a surface protection layer.
