The sweeper (1) has a rotary disk broom (2) provided with bristles (20), where the broom overcoats a sweeping plate (4) during a sweeping operation. A deflection element (50) deflects the bristles of the disk broom such that slip of the sweeping plate is controlled by the bristles. The sweeping plate exhibits an elastic deformable sweeping lip (5). The deflection element is arranged at a side edge of the sweeping lip. The deflection element exhibits a sliding surface with which a lower side of the sweeping lip or the sweeping plate encloses an angle (3).
