IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method by which an image having a wide viewing angle and being superior in color reproducibility can be displayed even when a video signal in an interlace system is inputted.

SOLUTION: A video signal O11H having luminance made higher than the gradation of a video signal O11 for an odd-numbered frame f1 is generated and is written in a first line. An interpolating video signal SDL having luminance made lower than the gradation of the video signal O11 is generated and is written in a second line. The same processing is performed for third and following odd-numbered lines and fourth and following even-numbered lines. Next, the interpolating signal SDL having luminance made lower than that of a video signal E11 for an even-numbered frame f2 is generated and is written in the first line. A video signal E11H having luminance made higher than that of the video signal E11 is generated and is written in the second line. The same processing is performed for the third and following odd-numbered lines and the fourth and following even-numbered lines.
