摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a biological component in the aggregate of potassium channels having various effects on cell cycle division clearly allocatable for cell proliferation. <P>SOLUTION: A method of designing a therapeutic drug for diseases caused by undesired expression or over-expression of a nucleic acid molecule includes: (a) a process for identifying a specific and potent drug; (b) a process for identifying the binding site of the drug by site-directed mutagenesis and chimeric protein studies; (c) a process for performing molecular modeling of both the binding site in the (poly)peptide and the structure of the drug; and (d) a process for modifying the drug for improving its binding specificity for the (poly)peptide. The nucleic acid molecule comprises a molecule encoding a (poly)peptide having a function of the human K<SP>+</SP>ion eag channel which is a nucleic acid molecule: (A) encoding the polypeptide having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID No.3 or 4; (B) having the DNA sequence of SEQ ID No.13 or 14; (C) hybridizing to the complementary strand of the nucleic acid molecule of (A) or (B); or (D) being degenerate to the sequence of the molecule of (C). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
