PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve linearity matched as much as possible with the characteristics of the eyes of a human and to enlarge a dynamic range without dynamically changing the storage period of a solid-state imaging element in an imaging apparatus. Ž
SOLUTION: A sensor chip 11 outputs imaging signals read from a pixel part two or more times within one frame period in parallel to n channels in an exposure period shorter than the existing one frame period set to specification. A frame memory 13 stores the imaging signals for two or more frames. A frame adding circuit 14 adds the signals of the two or more frames read from the frame memory 13 and prepares the signals for one frame of the specification. Thus, the dynamic range can be the square of N at maximum. A pixel signal level determination comparator 15 determines a signal level read from the frame memory 13 by pixel, and changes the number of frame addition and weighting, etc., in the frame adding circuit 14 in a frame adding circuit 32 on the basis of the determination result.
