PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forging press where a shut height regulation mechanism is miniaturized. SOLUTION: As a shut height regulation mechanism, the center of a connecting rod connection part connected with a connecting rod 2 in a wrist pin 3 and the center of a slide connection part connected with a slide 4 are mutually made eccentric, and a wrist pin driving apparatus 6 rotating the wrist pin 3 is provided. The wrist pin driving apparatus 6 includes: a worm shaft 7 engaged with a worm wheel 5 fitted to the wrist pin 3; a hydraulic motor 8 connected to one end of the worm shaft 7 and reciprocating the worm shaft 7 to the shaft direction; and a hydraulic cylinder 17 composed of a piston 15 connected to the other end of the worm shaft 7 and a cylinder 16 into which the piston 15 is oil-tightly inserted. A relief valve 20 is interposed between the hydraulic cylinder 17 and a hydraulic source 18, and the relief valve 20 is set so as to open when a press load is in an excessive value.
