PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structurally-simple roofing material which can prevent the displacement of the roofing materials from each other after connection. SOLUTION: The roofing material A is laid on a roof of a house etc.; a fitting retainer portion 1 capable of fitting the other edge 2 of the roofing A is formed on the one end side backside of the roofing material A; and a tapered portion 1a, which becomes gradually thinner inward from an opening end, is formed on the inner surface of the fitting retainer portion 1.
