<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attachment auxiliary tool and a holding method, for holding a tapping screw in a stable posture. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This attachment auxiliary tool is used when the tapping screw composed of a head portion engaged with a tool and a tap portion screwed into a member is screwed into the member. The attachment auxiliary tool includes: a base member held on the side of the member with the tap portion screwed therein, and having an opening for screwing the tap portion into the member; and a tapping screw holding member formed with a hollow hole having substantially the same inside diameter as the outside diameter of the head portion and having both opened ends practically storing the tapping screw, and having such a structure that one end is attached to the base so that the opening of the base member communicates with the hollow hole.
