PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic lock system allowing a user to communicate with the predetermined person automatically when opening a lock by using the predetermined key. SOLUTION: When the user applies his/her IC card 10 on a read/write part 29 of the IC card near a door 300, distinguishing codes on the IC card 10 are read. A door opening and closing controller 20 checks the read distinguishing codes against the distinguishing codes stored in an information storing part 25 and permitting opening of the lock and opens the lock of the door 300 when they coincide mutually. The door opening and closing controlling part 20 transmits address, the distinguishing codes, and mail transmission address of the door opening and closing controlling part 20 to a mail server 40 through a communication network 60, and the mail server 40 informs a cellular phone 50 having the received mail transmission address of the opening of the lock of the door 300.
