<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording head of a magnetic storage device, more specifically, structure of the magnetic recording head for improving a recording magnetic field by reducing a side erase magnetic field. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The magnetic recording head has a first taper in which the width of a main magnetic pole is converged in the direction of a floating plane and a second taper in which the thickness of the main magnetic pole is converged in the direction of the floating plane, wherein the second taper is configured so as to have taper structure which forms at least two inclined planes where the thickness of the main magnetic pole increases from a side which opens in a direction opposite to the floating plane of the main magnetic pole at a prescribed angle.
