<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a characteristic spot and speed even when partial depth measurement data cannot be measured, by using a multi-beam. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This speed measuring system of an underwater navigation object equipped with a multi-beam depth measuring machine 301 and an operation processing part 310 relative to the underwater navigation object, is constituted to detect the characteristic spot from water depth mesh data acquired by multi-beam depth measurement, and to calculate the speed of the underwater navigation object from the detected characteristic spot.
