PURPOSE: A method for separating a rotor from a generator is provided to reduce a cost by reducing a time to separate a rotor. CONSTITUTION: A fastener which fixes a stator supporting foot part(16) of a generator to a base part of the generator is separated. The generator is vertically risen onto the base part. A temporary supporting part(22) is arranged on each side part of the generator under the stator supporting foot part. The stator supporting foot part is fixed to the temporary supporting part. A platform(38) for maintenance man access is installed on a steam turbine(14). The rotor is separated from the generator to the platform.
