PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rain water or mud from being sucked into an air cleaner case while reducing intake resistance. SOLUTION: The intake device for a scooter type motorcycle is formed to have an upstream side air chamber and a downstream side air chamber partitioned by an air cleaner element inside the air cleaner case. The device is provided with a separate air induction air chamber communicating with the upstream side air chamber inside the air cleaner case. The air suctioning air chamber is provided with a cover rib, which communicates with the atmosphere by a side part opening formed on the side and a lower part opening formed on the lower side, and covers at least a part of the periphery of the lower opening.
