A solid electrolytic capacitor includes a valve metal support, a dielectric layer, a solid polymer electrolyte layer, and an insulating layer. The valve metal support has an opening formed about an anode terminal forming area except for a part of surroundings thereof. The dielectric layer is formed on a surface of the valve metal support so as to expose a part of the anode forming area. The solid polymer electrolyte layer is formed on the dielectric layer. The solid electrolytic capacitor is provided with the insulating layer for electrically insulating the anode terminal forming area in the valve metal support and the solid polymer electrolyte layer from each other. |
