Method and device for surveillance of the data connection of a presentation system and presentation system

The device has a connector i.e. Universal serial bus (USB)cable (110) for a playback unit (114), a connector for a modem (108) and a monitoring unit, which includes an interface for activating client-server software and testing function state of the modem in connection with the software. The monitoring unit breaks power supply of the modem in case of error function and again activates the power supply. The monitoring unit tests function of the playback unit and initiates new start of the playback unit in case of error function. An independent claim is also included for a method for optimizing a data connection between a playback unit of a presentation system and a server computer.
