PURPOSE: A method for forming a buttonhole with a sewing machine is provided to reduce failure rates of the buttonhole without deformation, and to offer good appearance by making a clean buttonhole. CONSTITUTION: A method for forming a buttonhole with a sewing machine comprises the following steps of: sewing fabric on a buttonhole location according to a shape of the buttonhole; backstitching a neighboring part of the buttonhole over 2 times; cutting the buttonhole after backstitching; and backstitching the neighboring part of the buttonhole.
