PURPOSE: A position detecting device and a method thereof are provided to exactly detect a position of an object when plus/minus amplitudes of amplified sin/cos wave signals of a resolver are different. CONSTITUTION: A position detecting device(1) includes a resolver, a sin wave signal amplification circuit, a cos wave signal amplification circuit and a computer. The sin wave signal amplification circuit(111) amplifies the first sin wave signal and generates the amplified first sign wave signal by the second sin wave signal. The cos wave signal amplification circuit(112) amplifies the first cos wave signal and generates the amplified first cos wave signal by the second cos wave signal. The computer(113) determines a position of an object according to the second sin wave signal and the second cos wave signal. |
